How long have you been tattooing and how did you start your tattooing journey?

I have been tattooing for 5 years. I have been drawing for about 10 years. I started tattooing by accident, I just decided to try it. I bought the equipment, practiced on myself. And I realized that this is what I want to do.

Do you remember what was the first tattoo you did? If so, tell us what it was and for who.

I got my first tattoos on myself. It was a raven skull, a moon and a centipede on my left hand. Now I have covered it all up.

Please, tell us about your current tattoo style and how it has changed over the years.

At first they were just black and white, small, grimy drawings. At that time, I wasn’t very good at anatomy. And I didn’t know how to put sketches on the body properly. Generally, even now they are black and white grim drawings. But with time, I raised my level in drawing. Now there is more dynamism in my works, the works are done with more detail and are drawn with understanding of human anatomical features.

Does anyone or anything inspire you?

I used to be inspired by Lovecraft’s stories and Giger’s work. This is reflected in my work even now, but to a lesser degree. Now I draw inspiration from architecture, especially gothic and Victorian neo-gothic. Video games like dark souls and bloodborne are also a source of ideas.

Are there any tattoo artists who are extremely admirable to you? If so who?

I can’t single out any tattoo artist.

Do you have any memorable tattoo story or a customer that has stuck with you through all the time you have been tattooing?

I have several clients who have gotten tattoos from me over the course of my career. Some of them have become my friends. But I don’t have any amazing stories.

Is there any art form that fascinates you also except tattooing? Maybe do you have any other passion or something that you really enjoy doing?

I don’t have much free time for anything other than tattooing and painting. I am constantly improving my drawing skills. I try to experiment with drawing and tattoos. Right now I’m looking for something that I might enjoy more.

Do you like visiting or exhibiting at tattoo conventions? Would you recommend any of them?

I’ve only been to conventions in Russia. I like visiting them, but I don’t like working at them. When working at a convention everything is very distracting, you often have to rush to finish the tattoo. I want to visit tattoo conventions in other countries.

Any artist you planning to get tattooed by? Who has tattooed you already?

Now I don’t want to get tattoos. I think that’s enough for now. I had flown already painted over. Almost all of my work was done by my friend Elizabeth Pro.

What are your plans and dreams? If you think about yourself in 10 years, what do you see?

This is a very difficult question. For now, my plans are to continue to grow as an artist. There is no specific plan. Ideas are born suddenly. I want to realize myself more as an artist.
