How long have you been tattooing and how did you start your tattooing journey?

My tattoo journey began back in Melbourne, Australia in 2006 where I tattooed as an apprentice in a studio for about 2 years before moving back to Poland in 2008 and have been tattooing now for 15 years.

Do you remember what was the first tattoo you did? If so, tell us what it was and for who.

Yes of course I remember the first tattoo I ever did! It was a tribal ankle bracelet on a young male regular customer who was willing to offer me his skin to practice on, but he moved and shook and fidgeted so much it made it very difficult to concentrate. In the end I could not tell whether my lines were crooked because of my hand shaking or my customer shaking hahaha

Please, tell us about your current tattoo style and how it has changed over the years.

My tattoo style over the years has not changed much so much, I’m still me and what I do is still recognizable as my work, however, I have shifted away from working-in a lot of details and prefer to approach projects in a more bold and contrasting fashion.

Does anyone or anything inspire you?

The natural world is the basis for my inspiration regarding optical aspects like textures, colors, forms, but essentially it is the spheres of emotion, philosophy and spirituality which are the driving force for my creativity.

Are there any tattoo artists who are extremely admirable to you? If so who?

There are much more than just 2 tattoo artists whom I admire and get inspired by and all for different qualities, not just the work they do. Naming just 2 would paint the wrong picture and not do any justice to all the others not mentioned so I will just say that some I admire for their artistic qualities, some for their passion to travel, some for their business abilities and some for just keeping it real over the years and not allowing their ego’s to take over, I think that’s more admirable to me (especially in our industry at present) than any technical/artistic skills.

Do you have any memorable tattoo story or a customer that has stuck with you through all the time you have been tattooing?

There is not one but so so many memorable stories and customers, I would not even know where to begin. My whole tattooing story is very memorable filled with travel, tattoo conventions and guest spots. I have met so many fascinating people who’s presence has shifted my life path, or whom have become long-term customers but also in some cases very close friends.

Is there any art form that fascinates you also except tattooing? Maybe do you have any other passion or something that you really enjoy doing?

Music is my other passion that is a very good antidotum after a long day in the studio, however not my only one as I am fascinated by nature both within and without the human experience so as you can imagine, I don’t get bored.

Do you like visiting or exhibiting at tattoo conventions? Would you recommend any of them?

In the past I found it super exciting to go to a new tattoo convention but over the years that’s changed for me. These days I don’t like loud, jam-packed places, the industry has grown and lost its ‘tattoo-family-vibe’ which was for me the backbone of my involvement in the conventions.

Any artist you planning to get tattooed by? Who has tattooed you already?

Nope, no plans for new tattoos for now, I still have some unfinished pieces. My tattoo artist choice was sometimes deliberate, sometimes spontaneous. I’ve been tattooed by Pawel Angel, Davee Blows, Sławek Frączek just to name a few…

What are your plans and dreams? If you think about yourself in 10 years, what do you see?

I have some plans and aspirations which I am undergoing at this moment but I prefer not to answer this question for now, time will tell.
