Wassim Razzouk; Over 700 Years of Tattooing:

Wassim is a very special tattoo artist, working in the heart of Jerusalem. It is perhaps not his work itself, which makes him the most special. He looks like most tattoo artists in his generation, drives a sweet hog and wears a cool west. But Wassim can brag of a longer lineage than any other tattoo artist in the world can. Where some of the people that go back the furthest, with family business tattooing, go back a couple of generations. Wassims family have been tattooing in Jerusalem for over 700 years.

However, their studio technically isn’t the oldest since it did change location to another building at one point, the oldest studio in the world is still held by Nyhavn 17 in Copenhagen. But this is no less impressive. Carrying on a family tradition with is closing ever more in on a millennia. Having tattooed people since the middle ages, a family business that has survived all the persecution tattooing has gone through, throughout all these centuries. It is absolutely astounding and awesome!

They even carry on the tradition, of tattooing christian pilgrims who come to Jerusalem. The best souvenir for these pilgrims has for centuries been a tattoo, proving their fate in their god and what they are willing to go through for him. Whether he continued that tradition or not, we here at MediaZink would be no less impressed, it is truly impressive carrying on for so long.
