Hey everyone it’s your favourite tattoo sociologist Mads here, for Mediazink telling you about a new blog that I will be in charge off.

The name is inspired by the origin of the name of my field of study, and it means tattooknowledge/tattooscience. This blog will essentially be where I talk to you all, about conventions, what goes on in the world of tattoo and the world around it, and even analyse it as a sociologist. Trying to explain to you in more detail, what is going on and perhaps why it is happening. I will also be giving you my opinions on these matters, sometimes based in sociological theory, other times (namely when reviewing, artists, shops and conventions) it will just be my personal opinion, based on my years within the tattoo culture and my experience writing about tattoos and doing reviews.

But the main point here, is giving people who want it, a place to go, to get a deeper understanding of tattoos. Giving you a place, where all the opinions you might hear elsewhere, about the ongoing stigmatization of tattoos, different nations changing legislation and so on, will be explained through sociological and social-scientific theory. So that we all might understand what goes on more, but also perhaps, better know how to deal with it and how to explain it to others.

I will also be doing talks around at conventions and be available to hire to come do these talks, whether it be at your place of work, at a convention you are hosting, conferences and more, keep an eye out for more on this and prices.

I hope to enlighten you all and to teach you all more about our wonderful world of body-art and tattoos.

Best regards, Mads The Tattoo Sociologist
