What Is Pinup Denmark:

Pinup Denmark  is a modelling and event agency for danish ‘pinups’. As well as being the biggest forum for pinup models, as well as people interested in the community/subculture.  We are a very close group of girls, that at the moment houses 23 different girls, of all shapes and sizes. This makes us able to fit into just about all genres within the pinup style. All of us get very into the pinup style, through photoshoots, events, happenings and so on, both by ourselves and individually.  We also do tutorials, competitions, and similar stuff by ourselves, or anyone interested in the style.

Pinup Denmark is owned by the two pinup models  Mija Lou and Kecia Lie (will be at the convention). Together they serve as the dynamic dou, that strives towards making the pinup community and style, more visible in Denmark. The motto of the duo and Pinup Denmark being; “All female bodies, are beautiful female bodies”

We are so lucky to be able to have a few of these awesome girls, grace us with their presence at the 50 Shades of Ink Copenhagen convention, next week. Hopefully you will come and meet these awesome human beings.

The Pinups Of 50 Shades Of Ink:

Kecia Lie:

What was it that attracted you to the pinup style/community and how long have you been a pinup girl?

I think it was the whole niche status of it and definitely the way you could style yourself into the ultimate feminine look, through lingerie, hair styling, the clothes and the make-up. Feeling at my most attractive and feminine, when I all all “pinned-up”. I have worked as a fashion model ever since 2008, but I have along the way contiually, done some photo shoots in the pinup style in my spare time. I only officially put “pin-up” on my resume, in 2013.

How is pinup and tattoos connected in your opinion?

It doesn’t necessarily, even though most of my body is covered in ink. I think it has become a part of the community/environment in the latest years, that we as “pretty” girls, can still have some “lady-balls” (“cherries” qoute: Miss Nanna), slapped on our chest, or several small Sailor Jerry, old school or new school tattoos, here and there on our bodies.

What are you looking forward to the most, being a part of 50 Shades of Ink Copenhagen?

What I look forward to the most, is being the “sparkle of the show” and meeting all the guests, together with my girls. We are currently in the midst of gathering together some accesories and some props for our photo booth. So I do not doubt that it will be loads of fun! Not to mention that I look forward to walking around the show, dressed as a diva a whole weekend.

Do you have a dream tattoo you want to get done some day?

Yes! and I just got the lines done a couple of weeks ago. It’s on my chest as a new addition to a bigger project.

Sarah Katrine:

What was it that attracted you to the pinup style/community and how long have you been a pinup girl?

I always expressed myself through my style. My clotheing and my hair reflect who I am as a person, and there the pinup styles playful, sexy and for the body complimenting and classic style, just suits me so well. I love the music, the femininity and the community. There was probably always a pinup inside me.

How is pinup and tattoos connected in your opinion?

To me, that I am tattooed, means I stick out from many of the other girls. My looks have a sort of edge thanks to my tattoos. It ensures that all the pretty dresses, shoes and hats, don’t make me all sweet as sugar to look at. But that I shine through as myself. By now I do have quite a few pinup tattoos myself. For example I have an updated Sailor Jerry tattoo, that I had done by Jesper Bram, during an exhibition at Runde Tårn in Copenhagen.

What are you looking forward to the most, being a part of 50 Shades of Ink Copenhagen?

I love the vibe at tattoo conventions. The sound and smell of people getting tattooed is amazing. I love to walk around and flip through the portfolios, finding something special just for me.

Do you have a dream tattoo you want to get done some day?

I am currently gathering together the courage, to get myback done. It needs to be decorated with a big bird and some red roses.

Miss Lynggaard:

What was it that attracted you to the pinup style/community and how long have you been a pinup girl?

I got interested in the pinup world back in 2010, where I mostly did something with my hair. After that I kind of put it off for a while. In the spring of 2016 though, I was the Nordic Noice event in Copenhagen, where I met 2 gorgeous ladies from pinup denmark, who after we had talked a bit, recommended that I compete at the Denmarks pinup model 2016 competition. Then I did that and I got all the way to the finals. I sadly didn’t win, but afterwards I send an application to Pinup Denmark and was inducted into the “family” in october 2016. I love the pinup look and everything about the genre. All women can be a part of it. In my daily life i work in Wonderwho Made in Aarhus, they sell pinup clothes.

How is pinup and tattoos connected in your opinion?

I wish I could think of a more enlightening answer. But I just have a lot of tattoos and I am a pinup girl… there isn’t really anymore to it for me, personally.

What are you looking forward to the most, being a part of 50 Shades of Ink Copenhagen?

I am just looking forward to the event in general. I have never been to such an event before, so it is all going to be very exciting. Plus I am getting a tattoo done on my leg on the sunday, so naturally I am looking forward to that. I am not tattooed from the hip down yet, so I am popping my “cherry” with this tattoo.

Do you have a dream tattoo you want to get done some day?

Ooh I have a lot! My tattoo artist Simone from Art’n Tattoo in Viborg Denmark, makes my ideas into reality and currently we are working on finishing my sleeve on my right arm. That’s been a dream for many years, completing that sleeve.

Miss Rockabella Polka Dot

What was it that attracted you to the pinup style/community and how long have you been a pinup girl?

There is a great unity in the community and you have an excuse to always be overdressed. I love the style, the clothes, the makeup and the music belonging to the style. I am completely new with pinup Denmark. But I got into the style 5 years ago.

How is pinup and tattoos connected in your opinion?

I think it suits the ultra feminine pinup look well and can give some edge to it, and it is an extra opportunity for expressing yourself creatively.

What are you looking forward to the most, being a part of 50 Shades of Ink Copenhagen?

Getting inspired by all the talented artists and definitely expanding my network.

Do you have a dream tattoo you want to get done some day?

There is always a “new” dream tattoo! Right now it is a circus princess that is going to suit my old school weightlifter (on my bicep).
