Jacob Brask; Master of Neo-Traditional:

Jacob is quite the talented young tattoo artist. Even with only 3 years in the business, he has already become quite the master of neo-traditional tattooing. His style is even developing its own clear distinction already, despite how popular neo-traditional is. You can clearly tell he loves what he does, in every single tattoo he creates. It even seems like he loves to challenge and develop his skill further, with some of the incredible tattoos he is creating.

His tattoos are so vibrant with color, and his skill with what he does with the colors so great already, it looks like his tattoos have jumped off of a comic book page, and onto the skin. We are happy to say, that we had the pleasure of interviewing this awesome tattoo artist, getting to know what drives him and hat he loves about his job. We hope you enjoy reading it.

3. How would you describe your style of tattooing/the style of your tattoos?

my style is neo-traditional the new form of old-school

4. What is it you love about that style?

I love this style because of the heavy outlining, coloring. I love custom drawings because its more unique tattoos you’ll get. Also the tattoos will last for years, the tattoos have the essence and knowledge of what that is real tattoo art, after my opinion. we should not forget the story about it. I respect the realism art as well and i like to do realistic also, but neo-traditional got my fully interest

5. What is your favorite thing about being a tattoo artist?

My favourite thing about it is to make my own designs and people like it.
and everyday I can be creativ, it have been a dream for years. I did alot of other artforms before tattooing. Graffiti, acrylics on canvas , drawing. Im so happy that I can live my life as an artist today. Hard work pays off

6. What got you into tattooing?

My first interest for tattooing showed up when i was 21. I always thought my friends tattoos were cool, but i didn’t want tattoos myself. But finally, i took myself together and got a little tattoo of a New York fat cap on my wrist, because it means something to me in the graffiti world. Then i was hooked and my friend showed me his tattoo-kit.

7. What is your favourite tattoo you have ever done or seen?

my favourite tattoo i ever done is a full leg sleeve in neo-traditional

8. Do you have a dream tattoo, that you want to do on someone in the future?

I would like to do a full back piece in neo-traditional, I think its a dream for every tattoo artist to make their own style on a full back.

9. Do you have any future plans, you would like your fans and the readers at Mediazink, to know about?

my future plans and goals is to become a very good neo-traditional artist, like my idols.
Hard work pays off, you must draw and practice each basic item again and again. And have a understanding of the anatomy of what you are drawing. Have interest in what style you like, and study that style to the fullest. Just appreciate, that you are so lucky doing what you love everyday, that is far from what other people can say, be grateful!

Despite his great skill, Jacob is quite humble. He still dreams of someday becoming a great tattoo artist just like his idols. This is a hallmark of all the best tattoo artists out there, he will keep working to get even better and more skilled.
