Oliveira is a tattoo artist, who has been taught to do all styles of tattooing. However, as he developed his skills over his career, he fell in love with realism. For its amount of details as well as its challenge. But all in all, he is an artist, greatful for being able to be a tattoo artist. Making a living doing what he does and improving his art.
Where are you from? What age are you? and how long have you been
I’m from Portugal, I’m 28 years old and I started tattooing 6 years ago.
Although professionally and full time 3 years ago.
The name of your current studio and where is it located?
I am resident Artist at the studio Sublimevilla, in Aveiro – Portugal, but for the moment I spend a lot of my time traveling and working in several studios in Europe and in the USA.
How would you describe your style of tattooing/the style of your
Currently, I stopped doing all styles of tattoos, to dedicate myself to the style that gives me the most pleasure, which is realism.
What is it you love about that style?
Its complexity. The more complex and challenging, the more attractive it becomes for me.
What is your favorite thing about being a tattoo artist?
It’s different because we can create a new piece of art every day, on a different canvas. Every day a different person gets a new piece of art for the rest of their life.
What got you into tattooing?
Following what I mentioned before, I was already painting and drawing and I felt curiosity about trying a different kind of canvas.
What is your favorite tattoo you have ever done or seen?
That i have ever seen is difficult to say because every day we see new pieces being created, so it’s hard to choose a favorite. The same happens with my work.
Do you have a dream tattoo, that you want to do on someone in the
Fortunately, I am lucky to have clients who want to tattoo the projects that i idealize, so I ended up feeling accomplished in that regard.
Do you have any future plans, you would like your fans and the
readers at Mediazink, to know about?
My plans, in the near future, are to continue traveling a lot and tattooing in many different places. The fact that my wife Mafalda started working with me and accompanying me in full time allowed me to deal more easily with all the implications of working in so many different places and on constant trips.
