They say that “You don’t have a right to the cards you believe you should’ve been dealt, but you do have an obligation to play the hell out of the ones you are holding.”

Earlier this year I came to a bit of a crossroads, it was time to think about options and about what’s next. I started brainstorming, asking myself, what is it that I really want? Trying to isolate the ideas that made me light up inside and feel like “that’s something I’d be happy to fight for”.

I ended up with a few goals, the main one being to go to art school. It was last year that I became fascinated with classical techniques and mediums, charcoal drawing & oil painting. ( I had been working with acrylic paint previously.)

I moved out of my rented studio space to a room in my own apartment, less space is needed with oil paint. I’m fitting in smaller sessions and with the slower drying time this has worked out real well.

My goal is to attend London Fine Art Studio. At this point I can’t afford to be there full time, but hope to start with some of their shorter courses. In the meantime I am practicing and still working!

Things are evolving, new opportunities are coming up, blogging here is one of them. 🙂

If you have followed my work, maybe you’ve seen that along with painting, I’ve worked with photo art and modelling, all of that I will be writing about here. I’m really excited!

Thanks for following.

This video was filmed in my home studio, so here’s a little glimpse of my workspace.

And here are some links to my oil paintings, more to come.

Till next Monday XOXO,

Ester Rose
