Alex Beau; From Loving Tattoos To Living By Them:

Alex Beau kind of ended up modelling by accident. Not that she laments that fact, she has embraced it fully.
But this awesome beautiful Irish woman, originally just started out loving tattoos, as well as keeping fit. Feeling the two things made her look greater. But earlier this year, through pictures people saw on her Facebook and Instagram.
Someone thought she should model and so it happened. We here at Mediazink are happy it did, Alex is ready to take the world by storm!

The Interview:

1. What age were you when you got your first tattoo?

I was 18 when i got my first tattoo in wildcat ink a small tribal sun on the back of my neck.

2. How did you get interested in tattoos?

I always loved the art of tattoo, people being able to capture what they wanted or held dear. For me it was my wee catharsis and I tended to get them with big changes in my life, to symbolise a changing point.

3. When did you start modelling and how did it happen?

I only really started modelling in February this year so not long. A photographer saw pictures of me on facebook and asked to shoot, then other photographers were interested and it all happened from there.

4. Was it always your plan to become a tattoo model?

It was never a plan to become a tattoo model. I put a lot of time and effort in to getting tattoos and keeping fit so if people are interested in that journey then fantastic, i will keep going while they are.

5. What has been your best experience so far, modelling as a tattooed woman?

Hands down the amount of love and support offered by my friends and the people who take the time to follow my social media. It is so nice when a great photographer wants to work with you or someone says I have inspired them in some way, that is always pretty awesome.

6. Do you have a favourite photoshoot of yours?

My favourite was probably one in Glendalough in Wicklow National forest park. I had a shoot with John Tillery of Shadows, Silhouettes and Sirens. It was torrential rain for the entire shoot so we both got soaked and the photographer ended up knee deep in the swamp as well as my boots disintegrating but we got some awesome rain shots in the end so it was all good until the next day I realised I was eaten alive by mosquito’s. One to remember at least.

7. Who are your own personal favourite male and female tattoo models out there?

I don’t have any favourites. There are so many out there and majority are fantastic. lots of creativity happening, its great.

8. Any advice for any young men or women out there, hoping to do what you do?

Believe in yourself, learn what your best assets are, practice posing, prepare yourself for shoots, be professional, know your worth and know it is ok to say no, stick to what you feel comfortable with and be careful, do your research into photographers bringing someone with you or at least saying you will and after that give them all of you have when camera is on you.

9. What is your favourite things to do in your spare time?

I love yoga, pole fitness, trying to eat as healthy as I can and looking after my two doggies who’re like my babies and music is important to me too.

10. Have you got a favourite tattoo convention/event in the world?

London is amazing for the range of crazy characters you get there. Everyone is so friendly and approachable and all just want each other to have a special time. I love that. Stockholm was lot’s of fun too, I will have to check out Berlin next time it also sounds an experience I would like to try.

11. Have you got any future plans or projects your’s and our fans should keep an eye out for?

I was just published in Tantalize magazine Halloween edition. In the next couple of weeks I will be published in Dreamchazer Magazine for an awesome set and I am working out Submissions for two Australian magazine. Soon I will travel through Europe where I plan on getting loads of amazing shots for Christmas publications and a Calendar for next year so very busy indeed.
