Adrian Novo; Epic New School from USA:

Adrian Novo knows just how to work his Inks and needle, to create some breathtaking new-school. With his clear inspirations from comic book art, as manga/anime, he has created his own awesome take on new-school.
His style works just as well with blood and gore, as it does with the sickeningly sweet. Making it both capable of a more serious manga and DC comics like vibe, as well as able to create the more goofy and cute images most people sometimes think of, when talking about new-school tattoos. This versatility is awesome and somewhat rare, when it comes to the style, so Adrian does an awesome job.

The Interview:

1. Where are you from? What age are you? and how long have you been tattooing for?

I’m from Miami Florida, thirty two years old and I’ve been tattooing I’ve been tattooing eight years.

2. The name of your current studio and where is it located?

I work at NiteOwl Tattoo in Northampton Massachusetts.

3. How would you describe your style of tattooing/the style of your tattoos?

My tattoo style is new school/illustrative.I try and take my clients idea and just make it very interesting while flowing with the body.

4. What is it you love about that style?

I love the freedom and creativity that comes with it. Coming up with original designs that no ones seen before. You might be tattooing the same subject like a wolf but having a cut off head with blood and saliva framing the head makes it completely unique.

5. What is your favourite thing about being a tattoo artist?

I love being able to make a living doing art. Its a lot of hard work and has not been an easy path. Traveling all over meeting new people clients and artist makes it all worth it.

6. What got you into tattooing?

I’ve always wanted to be an artist of some sort. I was living in California and started hanging around a local shop while me or one of my friends were getting tattooed. I loved the atmosphere of a tattoo studio and the smell of green soap. At one point I was sick of doing regular jobs and decided to do something with art and be my own person, I found that in tattooing.

7. What inspires your tattoos (and art) the most?

Everyday life inspires me from watching a movie, music to seeing an animal hanging out.

8. What is your favourite tattoo you have ever done or seen?

That’s a hard question cause there are so many tattoos that I’ve seen that are just amazing and blow my mind. I would say the work of James Tex is some of my favorite tattoos.

9. Do you have a dream tattoo, that you want to do on someone in the future?

I don’t have a specific tattoo but I would like to do more monsters. A mix between cute and evil like a pretty girl with parts of her being evil or gross looking.

10. Do you have any future plans, you would like your fans and the readers at Mediazink, to know about?

My future plans are to travel around the world more. Last year I went to Evian France and just fell in love. I definitely want to spend more time traveling so keep a look out for me and get tattooed.

Final Comment and Gallery:

Adrian loves to mix the cute with the macabre and evil, which can clearly be seen in some of his creations. Putting stitches into a cute looking elephant, or an adorable eye on a tentacle monster. There is a playfulness to his style at times, which you can never get tired of. At other times, you are just baffled by his sheer attention to detail, both when it comes to the tattoos composition and the craftsmanship. But also when it comes to paying attention to the details in a fandom, while still adding his own twist. Truly a very skilled tattoo artist.
